App Privacy Policy

Scope

This policy applies to the macOS applications Manga ZIP Viewer and Manga ZIP Viewer Pro (collectively, the “Apps”) provided by Studio DEN-KATSU (“we,” “us” or “our”).

Collection and Transmission of Information

The Apps do not collect or transmit your personal information, reading history, operation history, device identifiers, location information or other usage data to our servers or any third-party server.

The Apps do not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, crash-reporting SDKs or tracking features.

Files You Select

The Apps read archives, images and image folders that you explicitly select, only as needed to display and manage manga on your Mac. Neither the files nor their contents are transmitted to us or any third party.

When you use Manga ZIP Viewer Pro to rename files in an image folder, the relevant files in the selected folder are changed only after you review and confirm the operation.

Information Stored on Your Mac

To provide its features and restore your previous state, the Apps may store the following information on your Mac:

• Settings such as display language, viewing mode, binding direction and safety limits
• Reading position, single-page designations, page order and page display names
• Bookshelf metadata such as series title, volume title, author, original creator and tags
• Security-scoped bookmarks used to regain access to files you selected
• Cover and page thumbnails, and other caches that can be regenerated

This information is managed in the Apps’ sandbox, a cache location you choose, or another location you select. It is not transmitted to us.

Temporary Files and Backups

The Apps may create temporary image files when needed to display supported archives. Temporary files are deleted when the next item is loaded or after the App quits.

When you use the backup feature in Manga ZIP Viewer Pro, the App writes a JSON file containing bookshelf and reading settings to a location you choose. The App does not automatically upload backup files.

Deleting Data

You can select “Delete Settings Data and Quit” in the App’s settings to remove the bookshelf, reading positions, covers, per-title settings, security-scoped bookmarks, WebKit storage, caches and window settings from your Mac.

This operation does not delete backup files that you exported or your original manga and image files. Delete those files yourself if necessary.

App Store and Apple Services

Downloads, purchases, updates and other App Store processes are provided by Apple Inc. For information about Apple’s handling of information, please refer to Apple’s Privacy Policy ↗.

Information You Provide for Support

If you contact us by email or through the support form, we use your name or display name, email address, inquiry and any optional attachments you provide only to respond and troubleshoot. We do not use this information for another purpose or disclose it to a third party without your consent, except where required by law.

To prevent automated abuse and excessive repeated submissions, the support form temporarily processes a hashed identifier derived from the sender’s IP address and the submission time. This information is used only to enforce submission limits, and retained timestamps are limited to those from the preceding 24 hours.

Inquiry information is kept securely for as long as reasonably necessary to provide support and maintain appropriate records.

Security

The Apps use the macOS App Sandbox and access only files and folders that you explicitly select. Files within archives are not executed. We also seek to process content safely through format validation, extraction limits and the rejection of unsafe paths.

Changes to This Policy

We may revise this policy when features are added or when laws or services change. We will give clear notice of material changes on this page or within the Apps. A revised policy takes effect when it is posted on this page.
